ETMC Patient Exposes Paramedics To Potential Danger
A patient being transported to ETMC Quitman who had been exposed to a hazardous chemical vomited in the ambulance, potentially exposing the paramedics, according to information released late Saturday by ETMC.
Because of patient privacy laws, no information was released on the patient.
The paramedics and ambulance went through decontamination procedures and as a precaution the paramedics were transported to ETMC Tyler for observation. No one else at ETMC Quitman was exposed and the hospital remains open, officials said.
