Sunday Editorial, April 27
The Tyler Paper editorial on a recent Sunday, concerning the Tyler Independent School District’s board’s handling of the decision on improvements at Trinity Mother Francis Rose Stadium, seemed excessively critical of the board, in my opinion.
Members of the TISD board are respected community leaders who donate their time and expertise to improving the quality of education in our public schools and benefitting our community. They sometimes are forced to make difficult decisions with which we do not agree.
As a retired grandparent of students in both public and private schools in Tyler, I commend the members of the TISD board for their service to our community.
In intend to support board proposals that will improve our public schools.
