Falcon Named Top Lake
The editors of Bassmaster magazine have selected Falcon Reservoir as the top lake in their first list of 100 best fishing lakes in the U.S.
Falcon, an 83,000-acre reservoir on the Texas-Mexico border, has been producing huge stringers and big bass in recent years as the water level has stayed up. During a Bassmaster Elite Series tournament in 2008, Paul Elias caught a 132.5-pound stringer.

Florida’s Lake Okeechobee was second on the list and Lake Guntersville in Alabama was third.
Other Texas lakes on the list include Amistad (6), Toledo Bend (15), Sam Rayburn (19), Fork (26), Choke Canyon (39), Conroe (64) and O.H. Ivie (88).
Texas is the only state on the list with seven lakes. Florida was second with six.
