Tyler Police Investigating Monday Morning Shooting
Tyler police were investigating a Monday morning shooting that left one man injured.
According to a news release, police were dispatched to Mother Frances Hospital for a reported gunshot wound.
Officers said Kertral Damon Murphy, 18, said he was shot somewhere on West Gentry Parkway, but family members at the hospital indicated that Murphy was at a party somewhere in the area around West Erwin Street and Glenwood Avenue before the shooting.

The news release stated that officers searched both areas for evidence and witnesses but failed to locate any leads.
Murphy was transported to the hospital by an unknown black male possibly driving a tan or gold-colored vehicle with tinted windows, and the man left the hospital after Murphy exited the vehicle.

The news release stated Murphy was shot one time in the lower back and was in surgery for what police believed to be a non-life threatening injury.
The Tyler Police Department is investigating the shooting and seeking any information regarding the location of the shooting and the identity of the person who dropped off the victim at the hospital.
