Man Dies Of Apparent Accident Changing Oil
GARDEN VALLEY — A Smith County man was killed Wednesday morning when he slipped and hit his head on the pavement after changing the oil in a pickup.
Smith County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace James Cowart said 83-year-old James “Junior” Young died at the scene of his residence at 18385 County Road 442 shortly after 10 a.m.

Detectives with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office investigated the death, which Cowart said appeared to be an accidental death.
Cowart said it was not clear if the vehicle actually rolled over Young as reported by first responders on the scene or if the fall alone killed the man.
