Shooters Earn Honor
Tyler shooters Robert Langham and Justin Utley were awarded the Distinguished Pistol Badge on Sunday at the Terrell Rifle and Pistol Club.
Only 1,482 people have been awarded the Distinguished Pistol Badge, which is presented through the Civilian Marksmanship Program, since 1891. To qualify, shooters must win 30 points in a series of matches using a 1911 or M92 Service Pistol.
The two shooters previously earned Distinguished Rifleman Badges. There have only been 2,000 of those issued since 1891.
