Tyler Paper, KYTX CBS19 Special Reports Starting
The Tyler Morning Telegraph and KYTX CBS19 present their first joint investigative report tonight during the 10 p.m. newscast and Wednesday in the newspaper.
The Investigators -- the newspaper's Kenneth Dean and CBS19's Michele Reese -- spent weeks looking into rental properties with dangerous conditions such as stoves used as heaters, black mold and rat infestations that can put renters at risk.
They will address why landlords say maintaining rentals when tenants act irresponsibly can be difficult and why some renters feel they can't move out, even when the property is in disrepair.
Dean and Reese have won jour-nalism awards for their work in bringing problems to light.
This is the first of a series of reports by The Investigators. The team's creation is another way the news partners are fulfilling a promise to combine re-sour-ces to provide the most comprehensive news coverage in the region.
