Apache Ladies Top SFA, 6-1
NACOGDOCHES -- The Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies scored a 6-1 win over Stephen F. Austin in a tennis match Wednesday at the SFA courts.

The Apache Ladies improve to 11-2 on the season, while the Ladyjacks fall to 8-4.

"We played our most complete match (Wednesday)," TJC coach John Peterson. "We swept in doubles.

"I was really pleased how we played and SFA is a good Southland Conference team."

The No. 2-ranked Apache Ladies (11-2) return to play today in the Lee Tournament in Baytown. They will play Collin County at 2 p.m. Lee and Hillsborough (Fla.) are taking part as well.

The No. 1-ranked Apaches are also taking part in the tourney, but do not play until 9 a.m. Friday against Collin County. Laredo and Seminole (Fla.) are also scheduled to participate.

The Ladyjacks return to play on Saturday against Southeastern Louisiana, beginning at 1 p.m. in Hammond, La.
