Lee (0-2) was held to 138 total yards of offense while Longview (1-1) rushed for 223 yards and two scores. The third came on a 36-yard interception return.

In the second half alone, the Red Raiders drove inside the Longview 25 twice and had another possession begin at the 33. One drive was stopped on a fumble, the other on an interception in the end zone and the third on an interception returned for a touchdown.

"You can't turn the ball over five times against Longview and expect to win, that's ridiculous," said Lee head coach Mike Owens. "We got into the red zone a couple times, had opportunities and don't take advantage of them; but we have to take care of the football. I told them afterward, we may not do anything but run it, but we are going to take care of it."

REL quarterback Luke Wagner finished with 67 yards passing, completing 4 of 12 with three interceptions. Lee also had three fumbled snaps, losing one of them. REL senior Da Da Brown, who finished just shy of 100 yards on the ground last week against Lufkin, was stymied for 34 yards on 18 carries.

Longview tailback Tyler McCray carried 22 times for 98 yards and a touchdown. Jonathan Oliver also had a productive night, carrying 10 times for 61 yards.

Lee was held to 47 total yards in the first half, but the REL defense did enough to keep the home side out of the end zone for a 0-0 halftime score.

Lee's Derell Tate returned the second half kickoff 27 yards, giving REL possession at its own 34. The Red Raiders then started to move, using 5-yard runs from Chase Wiley and Brown to move near midfield. Then on third-and-8, Wagner dropped back and lofted a perfect 37-yard pass to Tate, moving Lee to the Lobos 16. Two plays later, Wiley coughed the ball up, trying to lean for extra yards.

Longview recovered and promptly 87 yards in 10 plays, all on the ground. McCray capped the drive with a 2-yard scoring run to give the home side a 7-0 lead with 4:31 remaining in the third.

A bad punt from Longview gave Lee possession at the Lobo 36. As the fourth quarter began, Longview drove to the Lobo 21, but on second-and-5, Wagner's pass to Wiley in the end zone was picked off by Lamarcus Howard.

On Lee's next drive, following a Longview punt, Wagner tried to hit Tate on an out, but Alonte Darden jumped the route, picked the ball off and raced 36 yards for the second touchdown.

Lee's fifth turnover led to Longview adding seven more point on a 13-yard keeper by Aaron Johnson.
