Brookshire Employees Volunteer At Schools
Brookshire Grocery Co. employees are serving as volunteers in about 175 schools in the company's Adopt-A-School program, said Sam Anderson, director of consumer and community relations.

In Tyler, volunteers will help at John Tyler High School, Andy Woods, Jones, Orr, Wise and Douglas elementary schools, Stewart Middle School and Rice IB World School.

Stores make a one-year commitment and can provide speakers, sponsor awards, offer classes tours of stores or help with drives and fundraisers.

"It has been exciting to watch the success and growth of the Adopt-A-School program each year since the effort began in 1987," Anderson said. "Our partners thoroughly enjoy interacting with the students, and the students reap the rewards of real-world role models."
