Whitehouse Places Third In Volleyball Tournament
The Whitehouse LadyCats finished third in the Gold Bracket of the Tyler Invitational Volleyball Tournament Saturday at John Tyler's Lions Den.
Christine Ford earned all-tournament honors for the LadyCats.
After defeating Corsicana (25-21, 25-18), Whitehouse feel to McKinney Boyd (25-10, 25-14). The LadyCats bounced back to defeat Rains (25-17, 19-25, 25-19).
Ford paced the LadyCats with 34 assists, 16 kills, four blocks and 21 points. She also had three digs and an ace.
Other standouts for Whitehouse (15-4) were Sadie Hilburn (21 digs, 16 kills, 7 blocks, 2 aces, 22 points), Ashley Crank (28 digs, assist), Abigail Crawford (17 kills, 12 blocks), Sarah Stanley (30 assists, 5 digs, 7 kills, 2 aces, 24 points), Alexa Fisher (29 points, 2 aces, 8 digs), Stephanie Alexander (12 kills, 16 points, 2 aces, 2 digs, assist), Mallory Smith (20 points, 6 kills, 2 digs) and Rachel Kidwell (11 points, ace, dig).
Whitehouse travels to Longview Tuesday to play Pine Tree. Freshman action begins at 5 p.m.
