TJC Spikers Take Two In Baytown
BAYTOWN -- The Tyler Junior College volleyball team defeated Galveston and Navarro on Friday at the Lee College Invitational.

The Apache Ladies (7-3) beat Galveston in four games, 25-23, 18-25, 25-19, 25-21.

TJC then beat Navarro in five, 20-25, 25-21, 26-24, 23-25, 15-10.

A pair of freshmen had standout performances for TJC. Chelsea Manningham, from Longview Christian School, totaled 38 assists in one match and averaged 9.22 assists per game in total.

Chelsea Lyons, from Barbers Hill, had a big hitting day with 38 kills and 16 service aces.

The Apache Ladies will face Lee College at 9 a.m. today and then Coastal Bend College at 3 p.m. in the round-robin tournament.
