WHITEHOUSE - The new additions to Wildcat Stadium were on display for the first time Friday night. So were the early-season jitters.
Garland Naaman Forest and Whitehouse combined for 12 turnovers in an opener that featured teams predicted to win their Class 5A and 4A leagues, respectively. It was Naaman Forest that made the most of seven Whitehouse turnovers, erupting for 25 points in the third quarter to pull away for a 52-35 victory.
Naaman Forest (1-0) trailed upset-minded Whitehouse (0-1) entering the third quarter, but the Rangers pulled away as the Wildcats fell apart with three fumbles and an interception.

In his first start as a senior, Whitehouse quarterback Brady Attaway finished 23-of-42 for 275 yards and five touchdowns with three interceptions. His top target was sophomore phenom Trey Metoyer, who electrified the crowd with seven catches for 166 yards and four touchdowns.
In the fourth quarter, Attaway and Metoyer connected for scores of 50 and 39 yards as Whitehouse tried to rally from a big deficit.
Naaman Forest running backs Jonathon Miller and Demario Broaduax combined to rush for 311 yards and six touchdowns, helping the Rangers record more than 400 yards on the ground. Miller, an Oklahoma recruit, led with on 192 yards on 16 carries. Broaduax accounted for 125 yards and five touchdowns.
It appeared Naaman Forest was on course to run away in the first half, but the Wildcats struck twice in the second quarter to take a 21-20 lead into the break.
Trailing 20-7 with 7:32 left in the half, Whitehouse began its fourth drive of the game on its own 28. On the drive, the Wildcats Logan Newton - who isn't on the team roster yet - sparked the offense with a 22-yard run to the Naaman Forest 36.
Only four more plays were needed to move inside the 10. A 5-yard pass from Attaway to Newton pulled the Wildcats back into the game, 20-14.
Whitehouse began its next drive in good field position - at its own 42 with 4:26 remaining - but Attaway was intercepted two plays in. But that wasn't the last of the Wildcats in the half, thanks to Jermaine Kennedy recording one of three interceptions of Rangers quarterback Derrick Osborn.
The pick returned the ball to Whitehouse at its own 49. After running back Chad Lewis picked up 19 yards on the first play, a personal foul penalty on Naaman Forest moved the Wildcats into the red zone.
Attaway connected with sophomore receiver Metoyer for a 14-yard touchdown with 2:42 remaining to give Whitehouse its first lead.
