City Of Tyler Seeks Entries For Historic Film Contest
The city of Tyler is calling on local filmmakers to enter a short film on Tyler's history for the first Historic Film Contest.
Top entries will be screened as part of the annual Heart of Tyler Festival on the Square, slated for Sept. 13.
The deadline to enter films is Sept. 10.
Awards will be given to the first- and second-place videos, and top entries will be featured on My Tyler TV on Suddenlink's Channel 3.

Entries should be on a DVD and be one to 25 minutes in length. The subject must relate in some way to Tyler's history and can feature a person, place or event.
"One of the recurring themes in the Tyler21 Plan was the need to highlight Tyler's rich historic past," said Mark McDaniel, city manager designate. "This is one of many actions we are taking to educate the public about our history."
Entries can be delivered by Sept. 10 to the city of Tyler Communications Department on the second floor of City Hall, 212 N. Bonner Ave.
They can also be mailed to City of Tyler Communications -, PO Box 2039, Tyler, 75710-2039.
