RESPONSE: I feel obligated to make an apology to Rod Whalen about his letter Aug. 12. I realized later Rod was being “facetious” with his comments about the founding fathers, the country, God and our economic system.

I know Rod was trying to burn an impression into people’s minds as to what is happening to this country, and I am proud to say I give thanks every day for those like Rod who are tirelessly working to save this country from the peril that awaits it.

I have to admit he got my attention because I was so mad that I couldn’t even get through his entire letter before I was on the computer ripping out a response.

I think Rod needs to know he did a great job on getting that message out. I stay mad every day because of this mess 545 congressmen have got us in. And, I think we the people have to share that blame for putting these people in office. Seems our choices are very slim.
