Tyler Junior College Apaches Defeat Texas Lutheran In Scrimmage
SEGUIN -- The Tyler Junior College Apaches defeated Texas Lutheran, 41-0, Saturday in a football scrimmage.

The Apaches led 24-0 at halftime.

TJC scored on its opening drive when Stephen Schwark completed a 45-yard pass to Teric Williams.

Former Whitehouse standout O'Bryan Bell scored on a 28-yard run and Don Brown added a 2-yard plunge to account for the first-half touchdowns.

Kyle Hamilton contributed a pair of 1-yard TD runs in the second half.

Former Chapel Hill High School kicker Landon Rodgers added field goals of 31 and 28 yards, and also booted five extra points.

Defensively, Calvin Rubles notched an interception and fumble recovery for the Apaches.

James Spady forced a fumble and picked off a pass. Also, Jarrell Young returned an interception 75 yards before getting forced out of bounds.

Chris Lacy had another interception for TJC.

"We were able to do some good things up front with running the ball,"offensive coordinator Ryan Mahon said. "We also were able to accomplish a lot with the passing game. Our execution needs to be better before we enter league play."
