August 24: Roses All Around
RAVES: Roses and more roses to the nice gentleman who offered to share the use of his extra-large umbrella one morning recently when it was raining hard and I had gone to eat at Dwayne's Country Cafe on Fifth Street after a doctor's appointment.
It really helped - thank you. And more roses to all the nice people who work there, especially to the young lady who was the cashier. I paid my ticket in all "ones" because someone had given me change in all "ones."
I thought I counted carefully but two had stuck together. She counted it and handed me the extra dollar over - and with a smile. She could have kept it and neither I nor the management would have known. She would and that was what mattered to her. Too bad we don't hear about people like her on the evening news instead of the corruption and cheating news we hear during our mealtime. There are many honest, hard-working people in America; we just don't get to hear their stories.
And, even more roses - I am on a walker some of the time and have some difficulties carrying heavy sacks etc., due to my hip pain. Within the last two months two people - in different roles - here where I live have helped me to get my groceries into the house. That is a tremendous help and saves me extra pain. Thank you both so very, very much; and I pray that if you ever need help, people as nice as you will help.
God bless America, God bless Texas, and God bless Tyler.
