TISD Foundation Sets Up Fund For Henry Conaway
A memorial fund with the Tyler ISD Foundation was created to honor Henry Conaway, a 1940 graduate and athlete of Tyler High School. The fund will help support the boys' golf teams at Robert E. Lee and John Tyler high schools.
Conaway, an avid golfer, died last week at age 86, according to a TISD statement.
Conaway volunteered in June for the Gil Hitt Memorial Golf Tournament, which supports the Tyler ISD Foundation.
"We were proud that Henry was a volunteer for Tyler ISD more than 68 years since his graduation," said Larry Goddard, executive director of the Tyler ISD Foundation. "He loved Tyler schools and our athletic programs. This memorial fund is a fitting tribute to honor his life."
According to TISD, tax deductible donations may be mailed to: Tyler ISD Foundation, P.O. Box 2035, Tyler, Texas 75710, or by bringing the donation to the Tyler ISD Administration Building, 1319 New Sunn-ybrook Drive, Tyler.
Acknowledgements will be sent to family members with the donor's name and address only. No amounts will be released.
