Aug. 19: Ongoing Problem
REPLY: In response to J. Wood’s rant (Aug. 17) stating she traveled only four miles and had to stop for six traffic lights. She should consider the progress our city has made to date.

After moving here in 1989, I was told a computer was purchased which should solve our traffic problem. Then in about the mid-’90s, a consultant was employed to solve our problems and again, a few years later, a second consultant was employed with little or no improvement.

To finally solve our traffic problem, last year, our city bought a “state of the art” system. As it has been only eight months, I think Ms. Wood should be more patient. Give it at least five more years.

It is short-sighted to expect a problem to be solved in eight months that could not be solved in 20 years.
