Temperatures to Begin Slow Fall Tuesday
Sunday was another very hot day in East Texas, with one more very hot day today before temperatures begin a slow fall.

A tropical storm warning was displayed from the Mouth of the Mississippi River to Intracoastal City, La., and a tropical storm watch from there westward to Port O’Connor.

Sunday’s analysis suggested that it would not likely bring rain as far north as Interstate 20.

There were scattered thunderstorms southeast of a Crockett-Shreveport, La. line Sunday afternoon.

These formed along an outflow boundary from a thunderstorm complex which crossed through Northern Louisiana just after midnight.

Sunday’s temperatures were again above 100 at most reporting stations.

Tyler’s maximum heat in-dex in the city was 105.

The heat advisory for the region continues through today.

Tyler’s high temperature of 103 came at 4:30 p.m., following the low of 77 at 6:30 a.m.

Sunday marks the third consecutive day of 100-degree or higher temperatures, and the sixth out of the last eight.

Similar low temperatures are likely from today through Wednesday morning.

Afternoon highs Monday should run from the high 90s in the south to around 103 in the central and north. Middle 90s to near 100 are expected Tuesday, and low to mid-90s Wednesday.
