Tyler’s Clyde Claims 9th In Legends Event
HOUSTON — Tyler’s Cal Clyde finished ninth in the Legends Junior Tour’s Houston Area Junior Golf Championship Tuesday at BlackHorse Golf Club’s North Course.
Clyde fired a final round of 75 for a two-day total of 149. He had a first round score of 74 on Monday.
Johnathan Chen, of Sugar Land, carded a 67 to win the Boys 15-18 Division. He had a 36-hole total of 138 to finish two-strokes ahead of Brian Smith of Corpus Christi (70-70—140). Will Dusenbury of League City finished third at 143 (72-71).
First-round leader Albert Miner stumbled to a 78 after carding a 66 on Monday. He placed fourth at 144.
Longview’s Jordan Sarran tied for 15th with a score of 153 (74-79), while Tyler’s William Estes tied for 25th at 160 (82-78). Tyler’s Wade Dixon finished 35th at 168 (81-87).
William Zalatoris of Plano won the Boys 14 & under Division with a 149 (76-73), three strokes ahead of John Rafael of Corpus Christi (78-74—152).
Daniela Fuentes of The Woodlands captured the Girls 14 & under Division with a 173 (88-85), while Katy Cardno of Sugar Land won the Girls 15-18 Division with a 151 (80-71).
