Four students will graduate from the St. Louis School, a school for students with special needs, at a summer graduation ceremony set for 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The graduation will take place at the St. Louis School, 2800 Walton Road.
The four graduates are David Bush, who has been part of the St. Louis School family for 14 years; Christopher Ray, who has been at St. Louis for 10 years; Melvin Rolf, who has been at the school for 11 years; and Layton Wolf, who has been part of the St. Louis family for more than three years.
There are day programs and sheltered workshops available in the community for these students after graduation, according to a statement from Tyler Independent School District.
TISD works with the parents and program administrators to transition the students into their post-graduate programs.
St. Louis School Principal Karyn Hacker called it a privilege to work with the four students who will graduate Wednesday.
“Each of these students has enriched my life and the lives of other staff members,” Ms. Hacker said in a prepared statement.
“They are entering a new chapter of their lives and we will miss seeing them each day.”
