$29 Million Tyler Armed Forces Reserve Center in Appropriations Bill
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), ranking member of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Subcommittee, today announced that the full committee has approved the Fiscal Year 2009 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill, which includes $29 million that Sen. Hutchison secured for an Armed Forces Reserve Center Building in Tyler. The bill is now ready to be considered by the full Senate.
“Our reserve forces play an integral role in the War on Terror,” Sen. Hutchison said in a prepared statement. “This funding will help provide modern facilities and resources for our reservists.”
Tyler will utilize the $29 million to construct an Armed Forces Reserve Center Building, according to an announcement from Hutchison's office.
The appropriations legislation funds military construction projects for the U.S. Department of Defense.
