July 13: Day Of Caring
ROSES: I would like to present a lovely bunch of roses to the United Way of Smith County for their wonderful "Day of Caring." There isn't a non-profit that provides services in Smith County that wouldn't love an extra pair of hands for a day.
Thanks to the United Way, there were over 400 volunteers helping various organizations. That's a lot of extra hands.
Those who volunteered at Tyler Day Nursery washed all of the windows inside and out. Yvonne Watkins, Diane Walker, Nancy Flanagan, Lynne Merryfield took time out of their busy day to support their United Way by being a part of the "Day of Caring."
A community is great because of the willingness of its people to care. Thank you United Way. Thank you volunteers for the unselfish way that you give back to your wonderful community.
