Cayuga Pitcher Carroll Signs to Play Baseball at Tyler Junior College
Cayuga standout pitcher Chance Carroll is staying in East Texas to play college baseball as a member of the Tyler Junior College Apaches.
Carroll, who was a unanimous District 21-A pitcher of the year, signed a letter of intent recently with TJC. During his senior season Carroll finished with a 7-3 record and had two saves.
He also racked up 111 strikeouts in 53 innings to finish with a 1.88 ERA.
Only a year removed from winning the NJCAA Division III World Series, Apaches head coach Jon Groth said Carroll chose the Apaches over offers from Eastfield, Cisco, McLennan Community College, Weatherford College and Hardin-Simmons.
