Texas Attorney General Recognizes Assistant Smith
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott on Tuesday recognized Troy Smith, an assistant attorney general in the Child Support Division’s Tyler office as Assistant Attorney General of the Year for the 43-county Tyler region.

He received the honor at the Assistant Attorneys General Conference in Austin.

“Troy Smith’s hard work and dedication has helped ensure thousands of young Texans have the child support they need to grow healthy and strong,” Abbott said in a prepared statement. “A committed and selfless public servant, Troy stands out as one of the state’s most dedicated and impressive lawyers. We are grateful to Troy for his commitment to Texas children and the state of Texas.”

Smith, who joined the office of the attorney general in 1983, is responsible for enforcing child support orders and representing the Office of the Attorney General’s Child Support Division in bankruptcy proceedings.
