Tyler's Clyde Tied for Ninth at Weibring Junior Golf
PROSPER — Tyler’s Cal Clyde is tied for ninth after Monday’s opening round of the D.A. Weibring Junior Golf Classic at Gentle Creek Golf Club.

Clyde fired a 2-over 74.

Alex Moon of Dallas, who will be attending the University of Texas in the fall, leads after carding an 8-under 64. Austin Green of Frisco and Paul McConnell of Garland are tied for second at even par 72.

There are 87 golfers entered in the Boys 15-18 division.

Longview’s Jordan Sarran is tied for 12th with a 75, while Carthage’s Zack Smith is tied for 20th with a 77. Also, Winnsboro’s Joe Ross fired an 82 and is tied for 63rd.

The second round is Tuesday.
