July 6: Ignorant Views
RESPONSE: Rev. Father Joseph D. Pisano of Morgantown, W.Va.'s letter June 24 stated his drive through Tyler and Mineola 10 years ago gave him a feeling that medieval days were haunting the town and determined that "outsiders" were shunned. He then went on to state that Mineola "allowed sex with and between children, gave prescription drugs" to them, and would "not welcome strangers."

He then stated that, as he drove through both (Tyler and Mineola), towns, that "everyone would know everything about everyone" and "still this horrific act went on for some time."

No one with any credibility would attempt to judge an entire town during a drive through. It is this type of self righteous bigotry from the pulpit that is driving people from churches.

He then goes on to state he finds that most newspapers and describing your towns as ("conservatives") and disconcerting. He judges but did not state, as any man of the cloth would, when he saw us as wrong, that he would pray for us.
