July 6: Value Of Life
REPLY: In response to Elvin Taylor, who as a protestant can not understand how some people in East Texas can think it is OK to kill people. Well, if you are a true protestant, Mr. Taylor you should find it not so hard at all to understand how it can be perfectly OK to kill someone.

If you were familiar with the Bible, you would know that many times after God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, one of which was "Thou Shalt Not Murder" he ordered the killing of many people.

I have been in the Middle East for the last four years. I have observed that life has different values depending on where one is at geographically on the globe and as well as the current mores and values at ones current location.

I have found a man's nature is a lot like civilization in that there is a thin veneer covering the savage that is beneath the surface waiting to come out. God forbid the value of a life ever becomes cheap and of little value in East Texas.

It is a good thing to remember we as children of God have a responsibility to treat each other as we would want to be treated and therein lies the thread that holds our civilization together.
