June 29: Missing In Action
RANT: I was amazed when I heard that my neighbors, Norma and Paul Smith, were no longer with The Salvation Army Disaster Team.
Having lived next door to this dedicated couple for over 20 years, I know how many times I've heard them pulling out of their driveway to answer a call for someone in need.
I was also amazed when I saw the tiny vehicle Norma was able to cook and serve food in for crowds of workers when they answered a call telling of their needs.
That's when I knew what the Lord wanted me to do with the money my husband and I had worked for over the years - buy a vehicle so this dedicated couple could more adequately serve workers in disaster areas.
I hope these ladies in the auxiliary realize the responsibility they are taking on without the help of Norma and Paul, a wonderful, dedicated couple, who have been giving so much in the 22 years they have been serving with the Salvation Army Disaster Team.
