Tyler's Carrie Morris Finishes In Fifth-Place Tie In Women's Open
GARLAND — Tyler’s Carrie Morris finished in a fifth-place tie Thursday after the final round of the Texas Women’s Open at Eastern Hills Country Club.
The recent TCU graduate carded a 71 to finish at 4-over 144 for the 36-hole event.
Morris tied for third among the amateurs with Rockwall’s Anna Schultz, who fired a final-round 69.
A 15-year-old amateur won the overall championship.
Tanya Wadhwa of McKinney fired a 3-under 67 to win by one shot at 139. Wadhwa began the day two shots behind leaders Jennifer Park and Marilyn Hardy.
Mabank’s Adrienne McDonald of The Golf Channel’s Big Break Ka’anapali was the low professional, finishing in second place for the overall championship and taking home a check for $2,000.
Defending champion Shannon Fish of Spring shot the low round of the tournament, 66, to finish as the second-place amateur and third overall.
