Winona's Thompson Signs Track Scholarship
Winona’s Buck Thompson (front row center), the Class 2A state champion in the shot put, signed a track scholarship with Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La.

Attending the ceremony (front row) parents Julie and DeeWayne Thompson; (second row, from left) Winona ISD athletic director Mike Sorenson, coach John Portwood and coach Scott Evans.

Thompson will major in business and will throw the shot, discus and hammer at Northwestern State.
