ACHIEVEMENTS
Dr. Robert Burnett of Tyler received an award from the Texas Dental Association for completing 25 years of continuous membership in the association and he was awarded membership in the Order of Good Fellow.
The honor is given in recognition and appreciation for loyalty and service to the TDA and the dental profession, association information said. Dr. Burnett has practiced dentistry in Tyler for more than 25 years. His Center for Cosmetic Restorative Dentistry is at 210 E. Fifth St.
ACHIEVEMENTS
The United Masonry Contractors Association presented Eubanks Harris Roberts Craig Architects Inc. of Tyler with the 2008 Golden Trowel Award for its work on the new Tyler Independent School District Douglas Elementary School.
The award is given each year to an architect and masonry contractor, each of whom has demonstrated excellence in their joint efforts in executing a creative, innovative masonry project.
Michael Craig, architect for the project, will represent the firm at the state level awards banquet in Austin.
Suddenlink Communications Tyler Call Center employees
Michael Manson and Josh Nix earned Hero awards for their efforts to serve customers, colleagues and the community, the company an-nounced.
They were among 12 employees in the company to receive the award. Suddenlink employs more than 4,800 people. The award is based on nominations submitted by colleagues. Manson’s and Nix’s colleagues noted a consistent, customer-first attitude they brought to work and included details to support why they believed the two should be considered for the awards.
NEW ASSIGNMENT
The Ark Assurance Group announced the addition of Claudia Harris.
Ms. Harris has more than 26 years in the insurance business, most of it helping East Texans shop for their insurance, the company said.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Crystal Florey, registered nurse and Trinity Mother Frances Joint Replacement Center program coordinator, was a presenter at Active Communications International’s Orthopaedic Services conference at the Churchill Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Florey spoke on implementing growth strategies by designing and implementing a joint replacement center of excellence through key strengths, initiatives, hurdles and outcomes.

The panel will present “Staffing/Recruitment Best Practices” during the ETHRA’s meeting, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. at the East Texas Workforce Center, 4100 Troup Highway. Cost, which includes lunch, for ETHRA members, students and guests, is $12
