College Graduates From East Texas
  • Chamaine R. Barker graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston on May 9 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in biology.

  • She is the daughter of Twonia and Gerrick Hardy, of The Colony and Ron and Gail Smith, of Tyler.

    Chamaine graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 2004.

  • Northeast Texas Community College held commencement ceremonies May 16 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts for Spring 2008 graduates. Among these graduates was Gina Buysman of Tyler. Buysman was awarded an Associate of Science degree. NTCC is in Mount Pleasant.

  • COLLEGE STATION — Diplomas were awarded to 5,484 Texas A&M University graduates during mid-term commencement ceremonies for the 2007-08 academic year. Those receiving degrees from Tyler:

  • Two Tyler-area students graduated among more than 3,300 during Boston College commencement ceremonies May 19.

  • Jordan Perkins, of Tyler, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, and Ian Ward, of Whitehouse, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and economics.
