Three Graduate From Army Basic Training
Army Pvt. Deyron Smith, Army Pvt. Shante White, and Army Pvt. Brandon Price graduated from nine weeks of basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
Smith, son of Deshun Jeffery of Gladewater, is a 2007 graduate of Gladewater High School.
White is daughter of Lena Williams and Alvin Brown, both of Tyler.
She is a 2001 graduate of Pace High School, Tyler.
Price is grandson of Jannie Coker of Maydelle. He is a 2003 graduate of Brazoswood High School, Clute.

Navy Seaman Kenneth Morrow, Navy Seaman Recruit Nathan Wright and Navy Seaman Recruit Phillip Hurley completed eight weeks of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Morrow, son of Jerre Morrow of Quitman, is a 2007 graduate of South Texas High School of Mercedes.
Wright, son of Susan Wright of Royse City, and David Wright of Chandler, is a 2004 graduate of Brownsboro High School.
Hurley, son of Sharon Hurley of Quitman, is a 2007 graduate of Quitman High School.

Navy Airman Hayley Sumrau, and Navy Airman Larry Hendrix departed on deployment on the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu, homeported in San Diego.

Prior to deploying, Hendrix and more than 5,500 sailors and marines of the Peleliu Expeditionary Strike Group completed a Composite Training Unit Exercise and a Joint Task Force Exercise.
Sumrau, son of Susan and James Matthews of Frankston, is a 2005 graduate of Brownsboro High School.
Hendrix, son of Tina Owen and Larry Hendrix of Frankston, is a 2004 graduate of Frankston High School.
