I read with great interest the article "Couple Seeks $206K After City Mistakenly Euthanizes Dog."

I cannot believe these folks want to sue the city for their violating of city ordinances allowing their dog to run loose. They should be chastised by every dog lover in Texas. It is due entirely to lax care of their dog he was running loose and had to be picked up by the city. It is not the responsibility of Denton to care for their mutt until they could accumulate the needed funds to come get him.

These types of idiotic lawsuits are the reason for jamming of our courts, leaving no time to take care of the criminal element strangling Texas, and every other state in the Union. I have no doubt they will find an attorney to jump on this case. The fact any judge in Texas would allow such a frivolous lawsuit is, in my opinion, grounds to vote him out of office come the next election.

Were I on the jury for this waste of court time I would find for the city and insist owners pay for the euthanizing of their dog as well as the fine for letting the dog run loose and daily care of said dog. Frivolous lawsuits have been a bane on our judicial system for years. It is obvious we have too many lawyers looking for work.
