June 2: Time For Dramatic Change
I am as confused as a chameleon in the Azalea district at bloom time.
Your Sunday edition, the very first page, refers to the poor results of our schools in the TAKS tests. Like a good old Baptist Texan, I have to congratulate the superintendent and all the hard-working teachers who achieved this coveted position. The previous superintendent left his position covered in laurels, so was his predecessor, for their great achievements and accomplishments -- which was even worse than what it is now.
In your Rants, Raves and Roses columns, there is a letter from a teacher lashing out at the Village idiot for differences amongst them on what a child needs to know in today’s world – I tend to agree with this letter writer.
Every single congressman, senator and representative to both federal and state government was elected on their promise (Yes, even State Rep. Leo Berman for what it is worth – strongly supported by Rieketie Riek) that it will improve our education system once elected.
And what about all those promises on how much we will achieve once we have the bonds passed and we have new classrooms?
I fail to connect the loose ends of all the loose strings, but this is what I understand:
We are an obese nation – all agree? Is it because we thrive on half-truths? These statements have been pushed down our throats by Fox, CNN and politicians from a platform filled with corrupt bought slaves of power mongrels and nonsensical cheerleaders of “go nowhere educationists.”
If you agree with all of the above, allow me just one more question: Do we then not all agree that it is time for a dramatic change?
