East Texans Graduate From Basic Training
Air Force Airman Sam R. Hull, Air Force Airman Matthew S. Porter, Air Force Airman Stephen C. Fain and Air Force Airman Derrick J. Reynolds, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

They studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training, and training in human relations.

Hull is the son of Sandra Hull of Omaha, Neb., and Sam Hull of Wills Point.

Porter is the son of Melinda Porter of Rockwall and grandson of Margeret O’Brien of Athens.

Fain, son of Greg and Denise Fain of Kilgore, was an honor graduate. He is a 2001 graduate of Kilgore High School.

Reynolds, a graduate of Wills Point High School, is the son of Stacy Hilton, and nephew of Robin Bush, both of Edgewood.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Sarah N. Graves, and Air Force Airman Reserve Airman 1st Class Konrad Roberts graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Graves is the daughter of Anita Smith of Gilmer and Ricky Burdick of Mesquite. She is a 2005 graduate of Gilmer High School.

Roberts, a graduate of Longview High School, is the son of Lori Ricketts of Whitehouse.

Army Pvt. Jermaine C. Traylor graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

A graduate of Pittsburg High School, he is the son of Sherrie Traylor of Pitts-burg.

Army Pvt. Tomas Oviedo graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

He is the son of Tomas Oviedo Vasquez and Eusebia Reynaga Martinez of Van.

Army 2nd Lt. Weston D. Amaya has graduated from the Army Basic Officer Leader Course at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

The training is designed to ensure a tough, standardized, small-unit leadership experience for officers.

Amaya has served in the military for one year. A graduate of Bullard High School, she is the daughter of Lori A. Amaya of Bullard.

Navy Seaman Recruit William J. Austin, Navy Seaman Recruit Ellen J. Henley, Navy Seaman Recruit Jeremy D. Shelton and Navy Seaman Appren-tice Jason B. Keith, have completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Comm-and, Great Lakes, Ill.

Austin, son of Pamela R. and Willie J. Austin of Tyler, is a 2007 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School.

Henley, daughter of Susan Henley of Larue and John Henley of Austin, is a 2005 graduate of La Poynor High.

Shelton, son of Rebecca Shelton of Tyler and Terry Shelton of Longview, is a 2006 graduate of Whitehouse High School.

Keith is the son Lester Keith of Tyler, and Vicki Simmons of Arnold, Mo.


DEPLOYED
Army Capt. Alicia J. Beaumont is deployed in Task Force Marne, one of more than 20,000 soldiers from the Fort Stewart, Ga.-based 3rd Infantry Division and elements of the 101st Airborne Division from Fort Campbell, Ky. She is serving a 15-month tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Beaumont, a validation board officer in charge/signal officer, is assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division. Her home station is Fort Stewart. She has served in the military for more than three years.

She is the daughter of Laurie J. Barker of Whitehouse and Stephen R. Barker of Hilltop Lakes.
