2 Cats Rescued From Tyler House Fire
Two cats were rescued from a house fire Tuesday morning on Farm-to-Market Road 14, between Robert E. Lee Boulevard and Loop 323, in Tyler, according to Tyler fire officials.
The cats are being treated at local veterinary offices for smoke inhalation, according to officials.
The fire started in a bedroom of the single-wide mobile home, officials said. A 13-year-old girl was home at the time the fire started and told firefighters she was watching television when she heard a loud pop in the bedroom. She looked inside and the room was full of smoke, she told firefighters. Fire officials believe the television set in the bedroom malfunctioned and exploded, they told the Tyler Paper.
Officials said the bedroom was heavily damaged.
