Tyler Construction Worker Killed
A Tyler construction worker was killed Monday morning when he became pinned between roof beams and the lift he was on.

Tyler Police Public Information Officer Don Martin said Juan Manuel Barron, 49, suffered the fatal injury shortly after 8 a.m. Monday at Lanes Chapel Church located at 8720 Old Jacksonville Highway.

Martin said that Barron, an employee of M & L Dry Wall of Dallas became pinned when the lift he was on hit a pipe, pinching the man between the iron beams and the lift in the new sanctuary.

Barron was transported to East Texas Medical Center by EMS where he died from internal injuries he sustained in the accident.

Martin said members of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration had been notified and were en route to the scene to conduct a workplace accident investigation.
