May 18: A Slipping Grip?
RESPONSE: I noted with some interest that two unrelated results in our recent election seem to go against conventional wisdom. Barbara Bass, a smart and effective CPA, handily won the mayoral race. Also the silly rule that customers must show a card to buy a drink was revoked. Obviously, this rule had no effect on alcohol consumption, but any vote related in any way to drinking has, in the past, been dead on arrival, Could it be that the "Old Guard" is losing its grip on Tyler politics?
