Everyone is invited to the wedding of Tina Jo Dubberly and Parker Price, the biggest event of the century in Fayro, Texas.

It's East Texas at its funniest in Tyler Civic Theatre's production of "Dearly Beloved," a comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.

The authors suggest in the play's script that "the characters who populate Fayro should be portrayed as real people."

According to TCT officials, that is just what the actors will show audiences- a tongue in cheek display of country life.

The show opens continues this weekend and will run through Saturday, May 24. Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday's matinee begins at 2:30 p.m.

Doors open 30 minutes before the show begins.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.

John Woods, resident director for the Braithwaite Theatre, directs a large cast through the wedding and the multiple subplots that keep actors running, one-liners popping, close-harmony gospel music flowing, and humorous and surprising events bumping into one another throughout the evening.

Alex Stansbury plays twin girls - T.J., the bride, and G.J., her identical twin sister. Kirk Hart and Diane Vernon portray the proud parents, Dub and Frankie Dubberly. The wedding coordinator is Miss Geneva, the local florist and bus station manager, played by Judy Griffin. The groom's mother - Patty Parker, played by Lucinda Kittrell - is on hand and out of hand a lot of the time with lots of unwanted input about the arrangements and everything else.

Other cast members include Linda Parker, Traci Smith, Rob Carter, Justin Ratliff, Sylvia Thibaulf and Bob Cloos. Bobbye Adamson, Sharlotte Hyde, Jan Payne, and Judy Watson are the producers for this comedy.
