May 14: Carter, Thomas
In response to a reader who loves Jimmy Carter and dislikes Cal Thomas: This is America and everyone has a right to their opinion even if they are wrong.
I voted for Jimmy Carter once because I thought we needed a Christian leader. I did not vote for him the second time because he was a miserable failure as president. The writer stated Carter has done more to bring peace to the world than any of our former presidents.
I admit Carter is very involved in world affairs, and probably was an advocate of "One Nation Under God." The "one nation" he was so proud of is called the United Nations.
Perhaps we would have more peace in the world if Jimmy Carter has his way with the whole world being one nation. It would be a socialistic nation with a despot in charge. The world would be very peaceful because if you dared speak out you would wake up and find yourself dead.
Jimmy Carter's involvement with Habitat for Humanity is admirable. But Christians should ask Carter, a deacon in the church, how in the world he supports the Democratic Party when his party supports abortion. Is one of the Ten Commandments, "Thou Shalt Not Kill"?
In one of his books Cal Thomas said, "An entire generation needs to learn what many were never taught so they can teach their own children what they desperately need them to know." Cal Thomas is a very wise person. I highly recommend his books to those who want to know the truth.
