UPDATE: Flooding Photo Gallery From Tyler Park

Tyler's City Park at the corner of Gentry Parkway and Broadway is completely flooded after torrential rains came through Smith County in the last 24 hours.
As of 10:00 a.m., the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office has reported a funnel cloud south of Henderson, said the department’s dispatcher.
Deputies and stormspotters were monitoring the potentially dangerous storm.
A dispatcher said the department was communicating with the National Weather Service.
The NWS had not placed the county under a tornado warning.
A broadcast report was advising resident to take cover and cited radar images as evidence of a funnel cloud.

HEAVY RAIN CONTINUES, WARNINGS ISSUED
The National Weather Service at 9:38 a.m. said more heavy rain is moving into the Tyler area from the west which aggravate flooding which already beginning to occur.
Many places in the area have received 1 to 3 inches of rain and another inch is possible as heavy rain continues, NWS said.
Smith, Gregg and Upshur counties are under a flash flood warning.
One of the heaviest line of storms was hitting Brownsboro, Chandler, Edom, and Coffee City. These cities and surrounding areas are under a flash flood warning in effect until 11 a.m.
In Tyler, some low areas were flooding and being blocked off. The Texas Department of Transportation also was beginning to close roads being flooded by water. Authorities warn to never try to drive through water passing over a roadway.
The NWS said severe thunderstorm will continue in Tyler throughout the day.

EARLIER THIS MORNING
The Tyler area is dealing with street flooding and power outages as a wave of heavy thunderstorms moves through the city this morning.
As of 8:30 a.m., there were pockets of power outages in Tyler, power lines were down in places, and some traffic lights were either out or malfunctioning.
Heavy runoff is sending water into roadways, bringing morning rush hour traffic to a crawl.
The Department of Public Safety is also working several accidents along Interstate 20.
Strong storms also pounded East Texas overnight. From about 3:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., a storm with heavy lightning and rain moved through.
The National Weather Service said to expect more rain throughout the day. Most of East Texas is under a tornado watch. Counties in far northeast Texas, Henderson County and Van Zandt County, also nearby areas in Louisiana and Arkansas are under a flash flood warning.
