May 13: Not Your Right
REPLY: In response to Ray Pickering's letter on Tyler's No-Smoking Ban: If I am not mistaken, the new city ordinance allows someone to smoke outside any establishment as long as they are at least 20 feet from the entrances. There are some exceptions like hospitals that have banned smoking anywhere on their property.
I personally do not have a problem with people smoking, but not in any public places. If they want to smoke, do it at home or in your car. Please allow others to be able to breathe cleaner air.
Many people have asthma and allergies and smoking not only affects the smoker's health, but others as well. I feel it is your choice to damage your health, but you do not have a right to damage other people's health.
