Burning Trash Causes Total Loss Of Home
A mobile home that caught fire in the 13000 block of Teton Road in Smith County was a “total loss,” according to an assistant fire marshal on the scene Monday night.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was first reported around 9:30 p.m.

Smith County Assistant Fire Marshal Oren Hale said the fire was caused from burning trash too close to the home.

One of the home’s occupants was burning trash in a barrel in the backyard when embers from the fire caught a mattress on fire that was up against the house, Hale said.

It took about an hour to get the fire under control, Hale said.

Firefighters from Dixie and Noonday responded to the scene.
