May 12: Reader Wants Citizens In On Jail Planning
What's wrong with this picture? There's a French word for this scenario. The misguided jail bond fiasco was soundly defeated by the electorate last year. The message sent was everything was wrong with the plan.

So now we read a new bond will be presented using the same architectural company apparently without any citizen input other than the leader of the vote no committee. There has been no effort presented that other avenues were explored to add to this process except to scale back a little.

A $20,000 fee for this revelation! Were other cities/counties approached as to how they were able to build suitable jails at less cost? Was any thought given to ideas expressed by the citizenry or other architects?

Come on, commissioners, are you going to spell it out for us this time with an effort of due diligence?
