Williams Blasts 2 Home Runs As Carlisle Scores Win At Area Baseball Playoffs
SULPHUR SPRINGS — Jeffery Williams homered twice and drove in six runs to lead Carlisle past Sulphur Springs North Hopkins, 10-0, Saturday as the Indians swept the Class A area playoff series.

Carlisle (17-3) will face Maud in a best-of-three regional quarterfinals series at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall. Games 1 and 2 will be Friday beginning at 5 p.m. A third game, if necessary, will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Williams connected on a grand slam in Carlisle’s six-run first inning and added a two-run shot in the fourth.

Quinlan Wedel (7-1) struck out nine in five innings for the victory. He also went 2-for-2 with a double at the plate.
