Alto Yellowjackets Leave Light Sting At UIL State Track Meet
Alto advanced five relays to state but left with just one medal.
On the boys' end, Alto's 400 relay raced to a third-place finish as the quartet of Devon Patton, Brandon Thacker, Demarcus Griffin and Javante Jones clocked a 43.77 to trail Rule (43.05) and Hull-Daisetta (43.50).
The Yellowjackets' 800 relay of D'Marcus Tyler, Patton, Javante Jones and Griffin placed fourth in 1:31.25 and Alto's 1600 relay of Kliton Wade, Tyler, Hayden Scott and Jordan Shaw was seventh at 3:33.50.
Rule did just that, winning the 1A boys' title with 42 points. Alto tied for sixth with 20 points.
