Benefit Clays Shoots Set
It is sporting clays season in East Texas, with a pair of benefit shoots on the calendar in May.

Cross Trails Outfitters Youth Hunting and Fishing Club will host its first Shotgun and Brisket shoot May 17 at Tyler’s Shotgun Sports Center.

The event is a 100-round shoot. The $100 registration includes lunch.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Cross Trails Outfitters, a nonprofit Christian-based charity that makes outdoor activities available to area youth.

A sporting clays shoot benefiting Make-A-Wish North Texas Chapter will be held May 31 at Prairie Creek Sporting Clays in Gladewater.

Cost of the shoot is $150 per person or $700 per five-shooter team.

The registration fee includes a mulligan, two golf carts per team for use during the shoot, shotgun shells, breakfast and lunch.

The Make-A-Wish North Texas Chapter operates in 30 counties in Northeast Texas.

Money raised from the shoot will go toward granting the wishes of children 2 ? to 18 years of age who have been diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions.

Along with the participation of shooters, the organization is also offering sponsorships for the shoot ranging from $150 to $10,000.
